The Rock Garden of Chandigarh, Punjab & Haryana is a unique sculpture garden for rock lovers in Chandigarh, Punjab & Haryana, India
It’s open to visitors 12 hours a day and it is located in an undisclosed location darjeeling rock garden. It’s a unique garden that was constructed with the use of discarded materials that were leftover from the construction of a nearby temple.
It’s located in the backyard of a temple and it consists of various sculptures made by an artist. Each person coming for a tour of the garden will be treated to a small portion that depicts one of the sculptor’s works in it. The Rock Garden is quite popular among tourists visiting Chandigarh.
When it was first built the rock garden was used by laborers who had to complete their daily task of constructing temples and other structures by the evening. As time passed the project was expanded to accommodate more people and as a result, more artists were brought in to assist the laborers.
The Rock Garden was featured in the National Geographic Traveler issue “Cultural Landscapes” in the year 2021. There are many tourists who come to the garden just to take a look at the artistic genius of the sculptures. Even though most of the rocks are cast in bronze or copper they have been crafted into amazing sculptures by the most talented artists of our times.
